What if you were the very first person to discover how to lie? The world hasn’t discovered how to lie. It’s never happened before, and from this the world of being blunt, honesty has less than satisfactory results for the ego. Movies are strictly documentaries, physical features won’t be kept out of the conversation at dates, and life doesn’t have any easier if you have any flaws at all.

Ricky Gervais from the UK’s ‘The Office’ plays as unsuccessful lecturer and film writer Mark Bellison. All of a sudden, his mind triggers the thought process of a lie, and begins to realise the power he has over everyone. His interests lie on the beautiful Anna McDoogles (Jennifer Garner), who has no worry telling him that she doesn’t want “little fat kids with stub noses”.

What unfolds is a man with an immensely powerful gift, and how the ability to lie can actually be beneficial in circumstances. Ricky Gervais has co-written and co-directed the flick with the same type of deadpan humour his acting style has maintained. It’s a nice comedy with Rob Lowe playing the charming character that he usually plays in films, and the awesome stand-up comic Louis C.K. as Mark’s best friend.

Matthew Robinson co-directs from his own script that he and Gervais collaborated on. Jennifer Garner, Rob Lowe, Jonah Hill, and Louis C.K. are also featured in the stellar cast.
