Red Hayes and Jack Rhodes's "Satisfied Mind," Queen Lili'uokalani's song of farewell, "Aloha Oe," and the never before heard Cash original, "I Corinthians: 15:55," written over the last three years of his life.

De laatste cd van de enige overgebleven icoon van de muziekwereld. Kijk naar de artiesten die in de muziekwinkels staan. Naast miles Davis is Johnny Cash de enige die zoveel cd's heeft staan dat er een levenslange carrière in muziek staat. Dit is zijn allerlaatste. Deel zes in de serie American Recordings. Hiermee wist hij weer een nieuw publiek aan zich te binden. Er is één woord dat bij deze cd opkomt: authenticiteit. Hoor de stem van een man die verlangt naar de hereniging met zijn vrouw. Breekbaar, integer en authentiek. Sail my ship over the waves of your sea.

Laatste cd van Johnny Cash voor zijn dood. Ain't No Grave (titelnummer) is echt ontzettend krachtig; ik had een stukje van dat nummer gehoord en meteen de hele cd besteld. Maar naast dat nummer vallen niet heel veel dingen echt op; het is gewoon een fijne cd om een avondje op te hebben staan en om weer op te gaan in het typische Cash geluid.
